Dr. Tariq Elassal is a dedicated optometrist at Total Focus Northgate with a patient-first approach and a special interest in dry eye therapy and retinal disease. Known for his calm, thoughtful care, Dr. Elassal takes the time to truly listen, helping patients feel informed and supported every step of the way.
Originally from Edmonton, Dr. Elassal completed his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences at the University of Alberta in 2017. He went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry from Inter American University in Puerto Rico, graduating in 2021. Since then, he’s been proud to serve patients in his hometown through full-scope eye care.
What Dr. Elassal finds most fulfilling about his work is helping people see the world more clearly, whether by solving long-standing vision issues or introducing them to innovative treatments that improve their daily lives.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Elassal enjoys staying active, spending time with friends and family, and exploring new destinations whenever he can.
